Tough news fell on the Washington Football Team as head coach Ron Rivera revealed Friday that he’s been diagnosed with lymph node cancer.
According to ESPN and Rivera’s doctors he is in the early stages and is considered “very treatable and curable.”
While Rivera fully plans on coaching the plan B for the Washington Football Team would be inserting team defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio at an interim basis.
Del Rio has prior coaching experience heading the Jaguars and Raiders.
The 58-year-old Rivera has consulted with a number of doctors and specialists to configure a treatment plan that will both enable him to coach and recover.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Rivera and his family during this difficult time.
