LA Dodgers captured 2020 World Series Wednesday

Chris's Corner

The Los Angeles Dodgers are your 2020 World Series Champions after edging out the Tampa Bay Rays, 3-1 in six games Wednesday.

After reaching the World Series three of the last four years, Los Angeles finally broke through capturing their first title since 1988 and this one might be the sweetest, especially for Clayton Kershaw.

The 13-year veteran captured his first title just miles from his hometown and the eight-time All-Star was this time a big contributor posting his second-lowest ERA in the postseason after years of disappointment.

The 32-year-old three-time Cy Young Winner had lots of help too from the arms of Walker Buehler (four wins in five starts with a 1.80 ERA), Julio Arias (1.17 ERA), Alex Wood (1.35 ERA with 8 strikeouts) and Victor Gonzalez (5 K’s through six innings pitched) and exceptional hitting by Corey Seager (8 Home Runs and 20 RBI’s through 18 games), Cody Bellinger (four home runs and 13 RBI’s), Max Muncy (3 Home Runs and 14 RBI’s) and of course maybe the most important player: Mookie Betts.

Betts, brought in via trade this off-season from the Boston Red Sox has been on the outfielders in baseball and his ability to base-steal, field and of course has been instrumental to the Dodgers success.

This team’s future is bright as Corey Seager captured his first World Series MVP, Walker Buehler is a future Cy Young Winner and the dynamic outfield of Betts and Bellinger has this dynasty set to continue for many seasons to come.
