Wake Forest has fired men’s head basketball coach Danny Manning after six seasons, the team announced Saturday. The Demon Deacons never finished above .500 in the ACC and had just one winning season under Manning in 2016.
The Demon Deacons finished 12th or worse in the league of five of Manning’s six seasons, according to ESPN. Overall, Manning went 78-111 in his six seasons in Winston-Salem (30-80 in ACC conference play).
Manning is a KU Jayhawk legend who spent 15 seasons in the NBA, six seasons as an assistant coach for the Jayhawks, two seasons as head coach for Tulsa and now the Demon Deacons.
