Vandy-Mizzou postponed as Commodores don’t have enough players available to play due to COVID-19

Chris's Corner

The first game of the SEC season has just been postponed as Vanderbilt-Mizzou set for Saturday in Columbia, Missouri will be played at a later date.

According to ESPN, the date is set for tentatively December 12th making it the first game of the SEC’s shortened schedule to be postponed due to COVID-19.

Down 56 scholarship players in last week’s 41-7 loss to South Carolina, SEC guidelines stipulate that a team must have at 53 or more players available prior to each matchup since this was not met on the Commodores side, the postponement was deemed necessary.

This is the 28th FBS game overall to be postponed or cancelled since Aug. 26th.
