The coronavirus has taken over college campuses as the University of Texas and Kansas State University announced outbreaks Thursday.
The Longhorns and the Wildcats announced 13 football players and 12 students tested positively, respectively. The 13 football players were some of the 58 whereas the 12 were some of 130 who initially returned to campus following the Big 12’s parameters allowing student athletes to return to campus for voluntary workouts.
All these players/students are self-isolating with four of them from Texas testing positive for COVID-19 antibodies, according to ESPN.
The NCAA approved plans for an extended preseason to give teams more time to hold walk-throughs and ultimately make-up lost prep time for the upcoming season.
