The Minnesota Twins will be making changes to their great stadium announcing the removal of a statue Friday.
According to ESPN, the statue was of former owner Calvin Griffith who was the Twins (then Washington Senators) owner from 1961 to 1984.
Griffith was a major figure in Twins history but made racist remarks in 1978 that marred his legacy to the franchise.
The Twins released a statement apologizing to the fanbase for “inadequately not recognizing pain it has brought people.”
Target Field opened in 2010 and of course it is located in the city of Minneapolis where George Floyd an innocent African American was murdered by white police officer Derek Chauvin who knelt on Floyd's neck for over eight minutes.
