Texas Tech took a progressive step forward announcing Friday they have fired women’s basketball coach Marlene Stollings after an appalling report.
According to ESPN, Red Raiders players have made claims over the past two years of a culture of abuse within the program.
According to interview reports gathered by The Intercollegiate, players would endure demeaning/threatening comments, were subject to sexually suggestive behavior by their strength coach as well as a blatant misuse of a heart monitoring system in punitive ways.
During that two year span over 12 of 21 total players have left the program including seven under Stollings recruiting guise.
This is a big step in the right direction for the Red Raiders.
