Texas A&M is the next school being called for the removal of a status by the Aggies’ starting quarterback Kellen Mond.
According to Yahoo Sports, the Lawrence Sullivan Ross statue known as “sully,” has been on campus since 1919. Ross was a general in the confederate army, a Texas Ranger, Texas Governor and A&M’s president from 1891-’98.
Mond joined thousands who signed a petition to remove it, making the ball in the college’s court to approve or deny the action.
Mond, a senior out of San Antonio, Texas has started 34 games over the last three seasons for the Aggies, according to ESPN.
