The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Friday they have temporarily shut down their training facility after three players and additional staff tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to GM Julien BriseBoise the players are self-isolating and are “asymptomatic other than a few cases of a low-grade fever.”
According to the NY Post, other players and staffers who’ve been at the facility are currently undergoing testing. Once the tests conclude, the Lighting will work in conjunction with the NHL to figure out how to proceed forward thereafter.
The Lightning now join the Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche and Pittsburgh Penguins as teams who’ve had players/staffers test positive for the coronavirus in recent weeks.
