Despite the win, the Seahawks lost a key cog in their offensive machine as starting back Chris Carson is day-to-day with a first-degree knee strain.
According to ESPN, Carson was hurt Sunday in the fourth quarter of the Seattle Seahawks 38-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys when defensive tackle Trysten Hill executed what the experts call “a gator roll tackle,” where the defender brings a player down from behind then proceeds to continue to hold the individuals leg while rolling over.
It is widely considered to be a “dirty,” unsportsmanlike move and head coach Pete Carroll was “pissed,” taking issue when it happened.
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy insisted there was “zero intent,” made by Hill to hurt Carson but Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright objected to this notion on a Twitter rant that, simplified, stated the league should come down harder on individuals who do this play, fining them and or possibly suspending them.
Seattle’s battled through a lot of injuries this season already particularly on defense as superstar safety Jamal Adams (groin), rookie linebacker Jordyn Brooks (knee) and rookie right guard Damien Lewis (sprained ankle) will all be week-to-week moving forward.
They are also without starting cornerback Quinton Dunbar and backup safety Lano Hill as well.
The (3-0) Seahawks take on the winless Dolphins in Miami this Sunday.
