A legend in San Francisco is calling it a career as Giants Outfielder Hunter Pence announced Saturday he is retiring after 14 seasons.
According to ESPN, the 37-year-old was designated for assignment in August by the Giants after batting just .096 with two home runs and six RBI’s in 52 at-bats this season.
Pence was part of two World Series-winning Giants teams, in 2012 and 2014 while playing eight seasons in the Bay.
For his career, the one-of-a-kind Outfielder has batted .279 with 244 home runs and 942 RBI’s in 1,707 games.
Outside of San Francisco, Pence has played for the Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies and Texas Rangers throughout his career.
