Another baseball player is opting out of the abridged season in Rockies Ian Desmond.

According to ESPN, the Colorado outfielder posted a powerful message on social media saying baseball is “failing,” in helping minorities (particularly children) to play and advance in the sport.

Desmond has been a major advocate of The Black Lives Matter movement since 46-year-old George Floyd was murdered by a police officer in Minneapolis.

The 34-year-old has played 11 seasons in the MLB (seven for the Washington Nationals, one for Texas Rangers and most recently three with the Rockies).

He hit 20 home runs, 65 RBI’s while batting a .255 average.
