Raiders receiver Tyrell Williams out for the season with a torn shoulder labrum

Chris's Corner

The Raiders took a major blow to their receiver room as Tyrell Williams was placed on the team's injured reserve list Wednesday.

According to ESPN, the 28-year-old has been playing with a torn shoulder labrum and has elected to undergo season-ending surgery that will sideline him for about six to eight months.

The former Los Angeles Charger started off the season hot for Las Vegas leading the team in receptions and yards but plantar fasciitis derailed Williams' season in which he finished with a career low in yards (651) and receptions (64) since becoming a starter.

Fortunately for the Raiders, top draft pick Henry Ruggs II looks to be the next hotshot receiver and free-agents Zay Jones and Nelson Agholor have been impressive at camp according to head coach John Gruden so Williams presence might not be as missed as originally expected.
