Raiders add veteran Corner Amukamara

Chris's Corner

Free Agent Cornerback Prince Amukamara has agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders Tuesday.

The 30-year-old veteran has spent nine seasons with the Giants, Jaguars and Bears starting 113 games tallying 10 career interceptions, 78 pass break-ups, six forced-fumbles and a pick-six in his career, according to Pro-Football Reference.

He had another great season in 2019 tallying 53 tackles and 10 pass break-ups but the Bears elected to release him in order to free up cap space. Chicago also drafted Jaylon Johnson from Utah as a potential replacement option.

Amukamara has been highly regarded as a top tier cornerback and will be an ideal fit for the Raiders who were awful in the secondary ranking 25th in pass yards allowed, 27th in touchdown passes allowed and 29th in interceptions, according to CBS Sports.

The Veteran joins draft pick Damon Arnette, Trayvon Mullen, Lamarcus Joiner, Johnathan Abram and Damarious Randall to compete for a starting position.
