The sports world is trying to continue to make country-wide changes as the Players Coalition has gathered signatures of more than 1,400 current/retired athletes, coaches, general managers and staff members from the NFL, MLB and NBA, Wednesday.
According to ESPN, the letter is addressed to the U.S. Congress as a bill to end qualified immunity, that makes it difficult to sue police officers for brutality. The bill was released by U.S. representatives last Thursday as a response to the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor by the police.
Among the notable signatures are players like: Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Carson Wentz, Greg Popovich, Steve Kerr, Dak Prescott and CC Sabathia.
Now the coalition is asking congress to pass a bill that would make police more accountable for their actions and this letter is a big step forward.
