The Detroit Pistons hired Troy Weaver as their next general manager, the team announced Thursday.
The former OKC Thunder executive agreed to a four-year contract according to ESPN.
He becomes the ninth black GM in the league and will work with senior adviser Ed Stefanski in running the Pistons basketball operations.
With the hiring, Weaver became the fourth GM out of the Thunder front office to be hired; he was instrumental in the evaluations and eventual selections of NBA stars James Harden, Russell Westbrook and solid players like Serge Ibaka.
He had been with OKC since 2008 back in their Seattle Sonic days.
