Penn State’s Micah Parsons and Miami’s Greg Rousseau to opt out of 2020 college football season

Chris's Corner

A major piece of college football will not be playing as Penn State outside linebacker Micah Parsons announced Friday he will opt out of the 2020 college football season.

According to Yahoo Sports, the 6-foot-3, 245-pound Parsons led the Nittany Lions with 109 total tackles, 14 tackles-for-loss and five sacks as a sophomore in “We Are.”

He is by many NFL draft analysts, a top five-to-ten pick in the coming 2020-21 NFL Draft.

Speaking of future NFL talent, Miami (FL) Hurricane edge rush Greg Rousseau has followed Parsons decision and elected to opt-out of the coming season too.

As a sophomore, Rousseau had one of the best seasons in Miami history tallying an ACC-Best 15.5 sacks, trying for the second-best mark in school history for a single-season.

As a junior, he was on many watch lists including the Chuck Bednarik and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

With the announcements, Parsons and Rousseau joined the likes of Caleb Farley (Virginia Tech), Rashod Bateman (Minnesota) as the four players electing to opt-out of the coming college football season and focus on the 2020-21 NFL Draft.
