Penn State QB Michael Johnson Jr. to enter transfer portal

Former Penn State QB Michael Johnson Jr. entered his name in the transfer portal Sunday.

According to ESPN, the redshirt freshman was an ESPN 300 quarterback in the 2019 class and ranked No. 199 overall when he signed with the Nittany Lions.

He along with fellow ESPN 300er Ta’Quan Roberson entered the quarterback room at the same time but unfortunately Johnson Jr. got buried on the depth chart attempting just one pass the entire 2019 season.

Penn State will enter with starter Sean Clifford and backup Will Levis along with incomer Micah Bowens, another ESPN. 300 recruit next season.
