The New England Patriots have agreed to trade super star tight end Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Bucs, pending a physical, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. This deal reunites the former retiree with quarterback Tom Brady. Gronkowski, who turns 31 next month, has a year and $9 million remaining on his current deal with the Patriots.
New England will receive a fourth-round pick and send a seventh-round in the trade, according to ESPN. Tampa Bay was the only place Gronk was willing to play. He is arguably one of the greatest tight ends of all-time, winning three Super Bowls, collecting 7861 receiving yards in nine seasons.
The Brady-Gronk connection is one of the best in NFL history with 79 touchdowns, which is twice as many as the next player as Brady has thrown to any other player, according to Pro-Football Reference.
