Green Bay secured a major piece on their defensive line for the long haul as defensive tackle Kenny Clark agreed to a four-year, $70 million extension Saturday.
According to NFL.com, Clark’s deal is the fourth-highest among interior defensive lineman with a $25 million signing bonus and over $37 million the next two seasons.
For the Packers, Clark was a foundational piece that spearheaded Green Bay’s defense from near worse to the No. 9 ranked overall.
His career-high 62 tackles, nine tackles for loss and six sacks earned the former UCLA Bruin his first Pro Bowl appearance and was a big attributing factor to the Packer’s just allowing 19.6 points-per-game on defense.
With Clark, the Smith’s coming off each edge and Blake Martinez at the linebacker spot the Packers defense will stay consistently formidable for the foreseeable future.
