Another huge college football star has elected to opt out the 2020 season as Oregon’s Penei Sewell will set his sights towards the 2020-21 NFL Draft.
According to ESPN, Sewell is a potential top-five prospect and the top offensive lineman heading into this season’s draft behind only players like Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence.
Sewell burst onto the scene as a sophomore as a dominant violent run blocker and precise pass blocker for the Duck’s high-octane offense.
His breakout season earned him the Outland Trophy awarded to the nation’s best offensive lineman and made a bit of history becoming the first Polynesian-born player to win the award.
Coming into 2020, Sewell was a unanimous first-team All-American selection and with the Pac-12’s decision to postpone all athletic competition for the calendar year, the move makes all the sense in the world.
