Eli Manning will be a little closer to his father as the former Ole Miss great will have his jersey retired during the 2020 season.
According to Giants.com, Ole Miss Chancellor of Intercollegiate Athletics Keith Carter announced Monday Manning’s No. 10 uniform number will be retired Sept. 10th during the Auburn football game.
Manning will become just the third player in the Runnin’ Rebels long history to have his number retired alongside legendary father Archie Manning’s No. 18 and Chucky Mullins No. 38.
Manning became the Rebels starting quarterback his sophomore season and from there he tore it up setting/tying over 47-different single-game, season and career records during his time in Oxford, Mississippi.
His best season was, of course, his senior season where he threw for 3,600 yards and 29 touchdowns earning him First-Team All-SEC, Second-Time All-American honors as well as being a recipient in the 2003 Heisman trophy.
The former No. 1 overall pick finished with 10,119 career passing yards and 81 touchdowns while at Ole Miss.
