It looks like Markus Golden is staying put, at least for now. Tuesday, the New York Giants elected to place a rare unrestricted free-agent tender on the outside linebacker, this according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
The tender allows Golden to negotiate with other teams up to the start of training camp (July 22). The former Mizzou Tiger was arguably the Giants best defensive player compiling a team-high 10 sacks, tackles-for-less (13) and quarterback hits (27), according to Pro-Football Focus. No other Giant had more than 4.5.
The last time this tender was used was by the New England Patriots on running back LaGarrette Blount in 2017.
