The NFL continued its support of systemic racism and injustice by announcing friday it will recognize June 19th or Juneteenth as a paid company holiday.
According to ESPN, league offices will be closed according to Roger Goodell’s memo.
June 19th of course is the day where slavery was officially ended in the United States.
The league's decision comes one day after it pledged $250 million over the next 10 years to combat systemic racism in the country.
With that announcement, the NFL joined Nike, Twitter and Service Square as recents to adopt that policy according to Fox Business.
