The coronavirus has now come to the NFL in a very big way. Wednesday the Los Angeles Rams announced center Brian Allen tested positive for the coronavirus, according to Fox Sports. The 24-year-old is the first active NFL player to publicly acknowledge that he tested positive for the virus, according to ESPN.
In his third season, Allen was spending his offseason at the Rams’ training facility to undergo rehabilitation treatment on a knee injury prior to feeling his symptoms three weeks ago. Head coach Sean McVay told Fox Sports, the facility was cleaned thoroughly as soon as Allen notified the Rams he tested positive for the coronavirus to ensure no one else was potentially exposed too.
Thursday, Denver Broncos star pass-rusher Von Miller has tested positive for the coronavirus, this according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Miller developed a cough a few weeks ago and was urged by his girlfriend and assistant to go to a doctor Tuesday to get tested. Miller was a unanimous choice for the NFL’s All-Decade Team with 106 sacks and a Super Bowl Championship in nine seasons.
