The National Football League released their full 2020 regular season schedule Thursday night. All 256 games were released on the NFL Network, the NFL Network App and all social media platforms and as always there are plenty of incredible, action-packed and exciting matchups waiting. The reigning Super Bowl Championship Kansas City Chiefs will open the NFL season on Sept. 10th versus the Houston Texans.
Here are some interesting factoids:
Teams with most primetime games: (5 games): San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, Tampa Bucs and Los Angeles Rams. (4 games): New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philly Eagles.
There will be two stadium releases for three teams: the Los Angeles Rams will host their home opener in SoFi Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Chargers will host their home opener in SoFi Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders will host their home opener in Allegiant Stadium against the New Orleans Saints.
Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa, the first two quarterbacks taken in the 2020 NFL Draft will face off when the Bengals play the Dolphins.
Three teams will have notable new beginnings as the New York Giants will play their first game without Eli Manning since 2004, the Los Angeles Chargers will play their first game without Phillip Rivers since 2005 and the New England Patriots will start their first week without Tom Brady on roster since 1999.
The Tampa Bay Bucs had just 17 prime-time games in the last 15 seasons good for least in the NFL. This season they will have five which is tied for the most. Tom Brady and the Bucs will open as underdogs against the Saints: that hasn’t happened since 2004 in Brady’s illustrious career.
The Seahawks, Rams and 49ers lead the NFL in miles traveled per 16 games whereas the Ravens, Steelers and Browns will travel the least.
The Watt family will have quite the showdown as brothers TJ and Derek face off against JJ when the Steelers take on the Texans in Week 3.
