The National Football League has begun laying out protocols for the gradual reopening of team facilities Wednesday.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, League Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo out to all 32 teams to allow a first group of employees back into facilities including 50% of non-player staff and up to a total of 75 per day. The only players that would be allowed to return would be those who were already rehabilitating injuries prior to facility closures.
The league is working with the NFLPA (players association) to finalize a second memo that would allow players to return as well. Facilities have been closed since March due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Ideally, the league wants to implement the first phase of reopening by May 15. When opened, staff/players would be required to following COVID-19 precautions including wearing facemasks and standing/sitting six feet apart.
