The New York Giants have found their next lead back signing running back Devonta Freeman to a one-year deal, $3 million dollar deal.
According to NBC Sports, Freeman rushed for 656 yards in 14 games last year for the Atlanta Falcons along with 410 receiving yards.
The former Florida State Seminole has struggled to stay healthy starting all 16 games just twice in his six total seasons and having his best seasons in 2015 and 2016 rushing for 1,056 and 1,079 yards with 27 total touchdowns but has failed to surpass even 900 yards since.
The move makes sense given Giants superstar back Saquon Barkley will miss the entire rest of the season with a torn ACL but I’m not sure if Freeman is exactly the answer to New York’s lack of running back depth, we will just see.
