New Orleans Pelicans Brandon Ingram named 2019-2020 NBA’s Most Improved Player

What a change of scenery can make for a player as New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram was named the 2019-2020 NBA’s Most Improved Player Award.


According to NBA.com, Ingram became the first player to win the MIP award with New Orleans. He received 42 first-place votes from a global panel of 100 sportswriters and media broadcasters.


Ingram slightly edged out Miami Heat standout Bam Adebayo and Dallas Mavericks phenom Luka Doncic for the coveted award.


The 22-year-old former Duke Blue Devil was a first-time NBA All-Star selection in 2019 having a sensational season averaging 23.8-points, 6.1-boards, 4.2-assists in 34 minutes in 56 games.


Through his first three seasons in Los Angeles, he never could really find his niche within a Lebron-lead Lakers team but once traded to New Orleans, he arrived and was anointed the best player.


Ingram worked slightly tweaked his jumper and then canned more threes this season (150) than the previous three seasons combined (127). He also improved his free throw shooting from around 65% to a blistering 85% and a 5.5 point improvement.


Well deserved and with Zion Williamson , Lonzo Ball and a plethora of youth the Pelicans are building toward a potential bright future.
