Another FCS Powerhouse quarterback is taking his talents to the NFL as North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance will forgo his finals two seasons to enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
According to ESPN, Lance is a projected first-round pick in next year’s draft being one of the top quarterbacks of the college football class.
In his first and only season as a starter in 2019, Lance didn’t throw an interceptions in 287 attempts setting the NCAA all-division record for passing attempts without an interception completing 67% of his passes for 2,786 yards with 28 touchdowns.
The 20-year-old was also an electric runner rushing for 1,100 yards off 169 attempts with 14 scores.
A true dual-threat quarterback led the Bison to an undefeated 16-0 record capturing yet another FCS National Title.
It was the first undefeated season for any team since 1894 winning the FCS Offensive-Player-of-the-Year award, most notably given to one of the best players in NFL history, receiver Jerry Rice.
The Minnesota native went 17-0 in three seasons as North Dakota State and will vie with Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields as the top quarterback taken in the 2020 NFL Draft.
