Chris's Corner

Big news coming for the NBA as the league announced a plan for a 22-team return in Orlando, Florida, ESPN sources reported Wednesday.

The NBA board of governors approved Wednesday approximately 12:30 E.T. that each of the 22 will play 8 regular-season games for seeding purposes for the playoffs.

According to ESPN, under the proposal the return would begin July 31st and a possible game 7 of the NBA finals last date would be Oct. 12.

Under the proposal plan, the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trailblazers, Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs in the West and the Washington Wizards in the East.

If the No. 9 seed is more than four games behind, the No. 8 seed will make the conference playoffs. If the No. 9 seed is less than four games then a play-in tournament would commence.

After the playoffs are finished the opening of free agency and the NBA draft would sequentially happen next.

This plan is all hingent on the governors voting a three-fourths passage among the 30 teams but sources tell ESPN this is likely to pass through.
