NBA names Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokoumpo the league 2020 MVP

Chris's Corner

Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has won his second consecutive NBA Award Friday.

According to ESPN, the Greek Freak joined a list of 10 NBA legends, including Lebron James, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry and more to win back-to-back MVP’s.

Antetokounmpo received 85 out of 101 first place votes and earned 962 total points from the global media panel.

The Greek Freak made even more history in 2020, joining the likes of Michael Jordan and Hakeem The Dream as players that’ve won both the defensive player-of-the-year and MVP in the same season.

Antetokounmpo had one of the best seasons in NBA history posting a 31.9 player efficient rating (highest in league history) while averaging 29.5-points, 13.6-rebounds and 5.6-assists while shooting 50% from the field in 63 games played for the 56-17 Milwaukee Bucks.

Yes, they did completely underperform in the playoffs but that is more of the lack of coaching by Mike Budenholzer and MIA’s of their supporting cast for the most part as they got ousted by the white hot Miami Heat in the second round of the Eastern Conference Semi’s.

Yes, Giannis needs to create a post-game, vastly improve his free-throw shooting and jump-shooting and I have no doubt with his insane work ethic he will get there but for now let’s celebrate the Greek Freak’s amazing accomplishments and consistent improvement each season.
