NBA to add three greats to the Hall-of-Fame

Chris's Corner

The National Basketball Association announced three legends will be heading to the Hall-of-Fame.

Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and the late great, Kobe Byrant.

  • The Big Fundamental, Duncan was never the flashiest, most boisterous or coolest on the court but he was a stone-faced assassin on the block that was simply unguardable at long stretches of his career. Averaging 19 and 10 shooting a career 50% from the field, the five-time NBA Champion, 15-time All-Star and 15-time all defender, is one of the best power forwards to play the game and one of the founding fathers (if you will) in the Big Three era with Manu Ginobli and Tony Parker by his side. (21 Forever)

  • The Big Ticket, Garnett received that name because no matter how brutally cold the winters got, when Garnett stepped on the court he drew a crowd. From his trash-talking, ability to defend (12-time NBA top defender) and crash the glass, the walking double-double (17 ppg and 10 rpg) was one of the best to lace it up in the Twin Cities. KG finally captured that elusive title in 2007 with the Celtics cementing the 15-time All-Star in the history books. Yes, Mr. Garnett, anything is possible. (21 and 5 Forever)

  • Finally Kobe “Bean” Bryant. The Black Mamba’s relentless competitive nature, clutch gene and strive for greatness was unmatched. One of the best shooting guards to ever play the game, Mamba averaged 25-points, five boards and dished out four assists per game. The 18-time All-Star was a true two-way player being tabbed on the All-Defensive Team 12 times and brought “Show-Time,” back into the hearts and lives in the city of Los Angeles. Bryant truly was one of the most special players I’ve witnessed in my lifetime capturing five NBA titles (including two Finals MVP) and I am blessed to have seen it. (24 and 8 Forever)
