Tennis will be returning to the Big Apple as New York Governor Andrew Cuomo approved the U.S. Open tennis tournament that will be held in late August.

According to ESPN, the U.S Tennis Association decided the marquee event will be held in New York City without spectators, pending state approval otherwise.

Gov. Cuomo wrote in a Tweet UTSA’s commitment to a safe environment for all athletes, refs, etc. including “robust testing, extra locker space, delicate housing/transportation and of course additional cleaning.”

UTSA Chief Executive Officer and executive director Mike Dowse is “excited,” and fans are too.
