MLBPA proposes 70-game season to League

Chris's Corner

Could we possibly have a baseball season? The Major League Players Association has finalized a proposal to the league for a 70-game season.

According to ESPN, the details include:

  • 70-game season starting to July 19.-Sept. 30

  • $50M in playoff bonuses

  • 50/50 split of new postseason TV revenues in 2021

  • Forgiveness of salary advances for Tier I-III players

  • Universal DH

  • Mutual waiver of grievance

This comes a few days after the league proposed a 60-game season to the players.

According to two reporters of The Athletic, eight owners of the 30 don’t want the season to even take place so the country waits to see what the league’s next move is.
