MLB to present 2020 season propoal to players union

Major League Baseball Owners have approved an MLB season proposal that will be presented to the MLB players union Tuesday.

According to ESPN/The Associated Press that the season would begin around the Fourth of July weekend in ballparks without fans. Spring training would start sometime in June and each team would play 82 regular season games and postseason would be expanded to 14 clubs (opposed to the regular 10) to double the Wildcard games in each Division.

If the medical and government forms can’t be obtained/approved for each city, clubs would have to consent to Spring training or neutral site facilities for the games to be played, according to ESPN.

Major League Baseball was suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus epidemic.
