The NFL, ready or not, will be heading to an NFL stadium and television screen near you except for the state of New Jersey as Metlife Stadium, home of the Jets/Giants will play their home games without fans.
According to NFL.com, following the limiting 500-person statewide limit for outdoor gatherings by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, both New York teams announced “due to the ongoing health crisis,” the decision in conjunction with “the current state of the COVID-19 crisis,” was what’s best for the focus of each team moving forward.
The teams announced their training camps and practices will not be open either ahead of the 2020 season.
In other NFL-related news, the league announced Tuesday they will allow players to have decals on the back of their helmet bearing names or initials of victims of systemic racism and police violence.
The announcement gives NFL players a voice on the field to stand up for what is right and just in the country’s most watched sport.
