If there was ever a question Thursday erased all doubts as Memphis Grizz guard Ja Morant was named the 2019-2020 NBA Rookie-of-the-Year.
According to ESPN, Morant collected 99 out of a possible 100 first-place votes by media members and that landslide makes all the sense in the world because the former Murray State Racer shined in his first season in Grind City.
The No. 2 overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft finished with 498 total points averaging 17.8-points, 7.3-assists and 3.9 rebounds in 67 games.
In his first season, the 21-year-old lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 34-39 record losing the NBA playoff play-in game 126-122 to the Blazers but with guys like Morant and youngsters Brandon Clarke, Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson, Grayson Allen and Josh Jackson are all 26 or younger are building a bright future in the homeplace of Blues.
