College basketball lost another star player as LSU standout receiver Ja’Marr Chase plans to opt out of the college football season to enter the NFL draft.
According to ESPN, Chase ranks as a top five NFL talent among ESPN”s Todd McShay’s list of 50 prospects.
Chase was the best receiver in college football hauling leading the FBS in yards (1,780 yards) and touchdowns with 20 earning him the Biletnikoff Award, which is given annually to the country’s top receiver.
Chase is the third Tiger to opt out of the coming season joining defensive end Neil Farrell and cornerback Kary Vincent.
LSU opens their season on Sept. 26 at home against Mississippi State.
