Louisville basketball looks to be the latest NCAA victim as the Cardinals received a notice Monday of Level I and three Level II allegations including a failure to adequately monitor the recruitment of an incoming, high-profile student-athlete, according to ESPN.
The NCAA alleges improper recruiting offers to former Cardinal recruit Brian Bowen II and another prospects coach as well as three allegations towards former Louisville coach Rick Pitino.
The now Iona Gaels head coach failed his responsibilities by not promoting an atmosphere of compliance and his two former assistant coaches Kenny Johnson and Jordan Fair allegedly provided impermissible benefits/transportation and contact with a recruit.
The Cardinals become the seventh program to receive an NCAA Notice of Allegations stemming from an FBI Investigation into college basketball. The other schools are Kansas, NC State, Oklahoma State, USC, TCU and South Carolina, according to ESPN.
