Los Angeles continues to invest their big dollars in their defense as star corner Jalen Ramsey and the Rams agreed to a five-year, $105 million dollar extension Wednesday.
According to ESPN, Ramsey now becomes the first defensive back in NFL history to sign a deal worth over $100 million and his $71.2 million at signing is the largest guarantee to a defensive back.
With the contract, the former Florida State Seminole is now the fourth player since 2018 whom the Rams have invested a record contract the others being defensive tackle Aaron Donald, quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley.
Since entering the league in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey has been elite hauling in 10 interceptions and 49 passes defended in four seasons.
Ramsey was traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Los Angeles Rams last season and since the Rams secondary has been elite.
Look for that trend to continue this coming season with Ramsey and Donald at the helm.
