In a shocking move the Los Angeles Clippers announced Monday they are parting ways with head coach Doc Rivers.

According to ESPN, after failing to live up to championship expectations blowing a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals, it was expected that changes would be coming but even this is still a mind-blowing move to me.

Rivers is the only coach in NBA history to lose a 3-1 lead in three playoff series as the coach for the Orlando Magic and LA Clippers twice.

Since becoming a coach in 1999, Rivers has compiled a 943-681 record (58% winning percentage) with the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers capturing a World Championship and Coach-of-the-Year nod in 2008.

He will surely be sought after and with Clippers stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George that job will be highly coveted too.
