The Los Angeles are turning a new page as they announced the firing of general manager Billy Eppler on Sunday.
According to Yahoo Sports, the firing comes with just one year left on Eppler’s contract and really for everyone was much-needed.
Under Eppler, the Angels have had five straight losing seasons, with this season being a sixth straight, each resulting in missing the playoffs.
Los Angeles compiled a 332-376 under Eppler with three managers and a rotating cast of supporting players around superstars Albert Pujols and Mike Trout.
The 46-year-old will surely find work elsewhere but with the Angels just going 26-34 despite acquiring Anthony Rendon and a slew of other solid players this off-season, it was time for a new chapter in Anaheim.
