Longtime NFL cornerback Aqib Talib officially announced his retirement after 13 seasons Wednesday.
According to ESPN, the 34-year-old gardened interest from the New England Patriots this off-season but never came to a mutual agreement on the contract. Talib was last seen being traded to the Miami Dolphins last October but never reported or played for the Phins for undisclosed reasons.
The former Kansas Jayhawk was one of the better corners of this decade being a five-time Pro Bowler with 35 career interceptions (tied for first among active players) and 10 pick-sixes (most among active players and good for fourth all-time).
Talib made his mark playing five seasons with the Tampa Bay Bucs and then made his biggest mark with the Denver Broncos capturing his Super Bowl Championship with the Denver Broncos in a 24-10 beatdown of the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
The Cleveland, Ohio native will surely be a Hall-of-Fame inductee in the coming years.
