Longtime New England fullback James Develin has decided to call it a career announcing his retirement Monday morning. The 31-year-old Develin cited “unforeseen complications,” with a neck injury that sidelined him for the entire 2019 season.
According to ESPN, Develin played in 81 regular-season games (29 starts), as well as 14 playoff games (six starts), a pro bowl appearance in 2017 and of course a three-time Super Bowl Champion. He had a remarkable career going undrafted in 2010 then signing with an AFL team, a UFL team, the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad and eventually the New England Patriots in 2012 and the rest (As they say) is history.
