The New York Liberty are taking a big blow as rookie guard Sabrina Ionescu is expected to miss one month after suffering an ankle injury Friday evening.
According to ESPN, Ionescu appeared to roll her ankle on a Grade 3 left ankle sprain during the first half of the Atlanta Dream game Friday.
The No. 1 overall pick from Oregon in the 2020 draft struggled in her first game but erupted in her second dropping 33-points, seven rebounds and seven dimes.
The former Duck was one of the best college basketball athletes ever, being the only NCAA Division I player to record 2,000 points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds in her career so her presence will surely be missed.
