The news just keeps getting better for Los Angeles as forward Anthony Davis looks like he’s here to stay for at least one more season.
According to Yahoo Sports, the superstar forward plans to opt-out of his $28.7 million option with the team and resign with the Lakers on a longer deal.
Davis with his agent, Rich Paul intend on meeting with the franchise to discuss a longer term deal in the coming weeks.
The seven-time All Star was a crucial part of the team’s championship run averaging 26.1-points, 9.3-rebounds and 2.3-blocks in 62 games in LA.
The Lakers future is dependent on Anthony Davis’s resigning as Lebron James (at 35) isn’t getting any younger and the former New Orleans Pelican is a perennial star in the league averaging 24-10 and 2 as a Pro earning him seven All-Star appearances, four All-NBA tabs, a four-time all-defensive player and now NBA Champion.
