LA Dodgers make history while being the first team to clinch a playoff spot in the 2020 season

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a special season and with their 7-5 victory over the San Diego Padres, they are once again, heading to the playoffs being the first team to clinch a playoff spot Wednesday.


According to ESPN, the victory in San Diego secured an eight consecutive trip to the postseason, making it the third-longest such streak in MLB history trailing the Atlanta Braves (1991-2005, 13 appearances) and New York Yankees (1995-2007, 13).


Los Angeles has the MLB’s best record at 33-15 and has everything necessary to win their first championship since 1988.


Newly acquired Mookie Betts has been one of the best players in the league hitting 15 home runs with 35 RBI’s batting .306.


Outfielder Cody Bellinger and shortstop Kyle Seager have once again been excellent combining for 22 home runs, 58 RBI’s while batting collectively .0260.


Pitcher Clayton Kershaw has been defying his age going (5-2) in eight appearances with a 2.28 ERA with 53 strikeouts and youngsters Julio Urias (3-0, 3.58 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) and Victor Gonzalez (3-0, 1.59 ERA, 0.59 WHIP) have rounded out a solid rotation.


This team will certainly be frontrunners and in this abridge weird sports time will finally capture the slipper Championship this 2020 season.
