Bartender, give me a double cause the Chargers took a double shot of bad news Sunday losing a tough one to the Tampa Bay Bucs as well as running back Austin Ekeler too.
According to ESPN, the do-it-all back is expected to be sidelined four-to-six weeks with a hamstring injury leaving Sunday’s game in crutches and brace.
The fourth-year back also suffered a hyperextended knee and is seeking a second opinion on his hamstring and timetable to return from an outside doctor.
Through three games, the West Colorado alum has rushed for 248 yards and hauled in 144 yards with a touchdown this season.
This off-season, Ekeler signed a three-year, $24.5 million dollar deal and was the primary reason Los Angeles allowed former starting running back Melvin Gordon to walk for nothing.
