Kansas basketball star Drew Gooden will be inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.
The University announced Gooden will be part of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2020.
According to KUAthletics, Gooden, along with nine others, will be inducted on Sun. Oct. 4, at the Kansas Star Casino.
The Oakland, California 38-year-old was a stud for the Jayhawks, particularly in 2001 where he averaged 19.8-points-per-game and led the nation in rebounding with 11-per-contest, according to Sports-Reference.com.
This production earned him the National Player-of-the-Year award and earned him the No. 4 overall selection of the 2002 NBA Draft to the Memphis Grizz.
In his first season of the NBA, Gooden was awarded the 2002 Rookie-of-the-Year and was a consistent productive role player each season following. He played 19 seasons in the NBA playing for the Grizzlies, Cavaliers, Bucks, Wizards, Magics, Bulls, Mavericks, Clippers, Spurs and Kings.
Gooden averaged a career 11-points and 7-boards in the NBA.
